# Introduction

Reference for the legacy Gleantap v2 API.

{% hint style="warning" %}
**You're viewing the v2 (legacy) API.** v2 is deprecated and will be retired on a published schedule. New integrations should use the [v3 API](https://developers.gleantap.com/) — switch versions with the selector at the top of the page.
{% endhint %}

You can interact with the V2 API through simple HTTP requests from any language. The V2 API is available at:

```
## Generate your API keys
In Gleantap, open **Settings** from the top-right menu, click **API**, then **Generate a New Key**.
Every request needs:
| Where                        | Value                                                                   |
| ---------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `X-API-KEY` header           | Your API key                                                            |
| `X-SECRET-KEY` header        | Your API secret                                                         |
| `app_id` in the request body | Your workroom ID — the 24-character ID at the end of your dashboard URL |
You can generate as many API keys as you like; delete inactive ones to avoid abuse.
## Rate limits
All accounts default to a maximum of **1,000 calls per rolling 24-hour window**. Above that you'll receive a `429` status with the error "You have exceeded your rate limit".
If you need more than 1,000 calls a day, contact <support@gleantap.com>.
